Fall Mini Sneaks| Alexandria and Burke Virginia Photographer

The Fall Mini Session Season is off to a GREAT start.   The leaves are just starting to crisp up and fall off the trees and amaze us with its splendor.  The crunch of the leaves under my feet just makes my heart swoon – soon, it will be cool enough for the fireplace and then the mantle will be adorned by all of these amazing kids that I am blessed to work with.  I still cannot believe that MY eyes get to see such amazing children.  And it’s not their clothes, it is the beauty in their personalities that I feel are brought out with each click of the shutter.

Maternity|Northern VA Beach|It’s a SHE

Mom called when she was just two weeks from her due date.   (There is always room to squeeze in Maternity and Newborn.)  We made our way to Prince William County and found a beach for her portraits. The temperature was in the 60’s…I cannot stop swooning…

My Pixie|Photographer’s Kid|In my yard

So often I post sneaks and write blogs about my client’s kids and newborns.  Today I will deviate and post about “baby” Chris –  My son. These images were taken a week before School started and also after his surgery.  He had guided growth plates put in to correct his bowed legs – the plates are out and he’s standing and walking and running (that part scares me).  His surgeon told me to let him determine what he can and cannot do and asked that I NOT be a helicopter mom as it will only hinder the process of him getting stronger and confident with his legs.  So, I had him go outside and pose for me.

I picked the t-shirt cuz the Guns N Roses concert was amazing!  Axl sounded great – I was shocked – anyway – here’s my 13 year old baby…

6 month Baby Boy| Fairfax ChildPhotographer| Those Cheeks…That Smile

Mom and Dad are so fortunate to add this little cherub.. I mean Pixie to the family.  He is 6 months old and full of spirit and seriously has the kindest eyes.  I wonder what his talking voice will be like.  What his personality will be like (full of laughter I assume).  We took these images at Green Springs Garden in Alexandria.  I love it there no matter what time of the year – it never disappoints.

As for now, Mom and Dad and his older brother and sister will get to see these two sneaks.  I’ll post more from the session a little later on.  Don’t forget, Fall dates are available.  A few more weekend spots are available and week day spots are more flexible (and are discounted).

Happy Looking,  I could just eat him up – those cheeks…

Two Sneaks| Alexandria VA Newborn Photographer|One Boy and One Girl

When a client contacts me, some of them may ask that I not share any of their photos on line, and I happily oblige.  These two families said it was OK to post a sneak – so here are two cuties I had the pleasure of photographing this past week.

The boy is a TEN pounder (glad they didn’t buy many newborn clothes) and the girl fit in the exact same sack that her big sister fit it a few years ago.

Senior Portraits|Best Friends|And… They’re Off

Remember when your baby was actually little?  Hopefully Mom and Dad will look back at these photos and say the same thing.  Kids change ALL the time and documenting these  changes is the beginning of an heirloom.

These girls, eh hem – I mean young women, are off to start the rest of their lives.  They have been “besties” all thru school and now their lives are taking a different path.  They are OFF to college where the world will offer them EVERYTHING.  Because of technology, they can still keep in touch but it’s not the same as passing a note in class (am I dating myself?) or hanging out at lunch, on the weekends..at Prom…

I was so honored that Mom chose me to capture this special time in their lives.  They have worked so HARD to get where they are.  Young Ladies , have a GREAT time in college (not too great – college is EXPENSIVE…lol) and I do hope you remain friends forever even tho, you are all parting ways and carving your own path in life.
